Safety
Safety is our number one goal at RBS. From the managing director of the board to each drilling operator, we are committed to the safety and welfare of our employees, as well as all others associated with our work.
Under the direction of our managing director, RBS has a fully staffed safety department responsible for the development and implementation of standard safety procedures. Our commitment to safety has dramatically reduced the frequency and severity of job-site injuries. Proof of that commitment lies in the fact that the company consistently scores well below the national average lost time rate.
“We’ve selected RBS based on their commitment to safety, their solid reputation in the construction industry and their ability to bring projects in on time and on budget.”
Our excellent safety record has been built on five basic beliefs about safety:
“Nothing is more important than safety . . . not production, not sales, not profits.”TÂ Â
This principle was established years before most in the construction industry realized the importance of employee safety and health.
All injuries and incidents are preventable, not inevitable.
The direct result of this belief is our “Zero Injury” goal. We truly believe, and have accomplished, major self-performance projects without a single injury.
Safety is a management responsibility that can be managed.
Every manager at RBS is responsible for ensuring that everyone works in a safe environment. We have established leading indicator metrics to fairly enable this accountability.
Safety practices are an individual responsibility and a condition of employment.
Uniform work rules include disciplinary measures such as termination, suspension and written warnings. These rules are discussed with every employee during project-specific safety orientations. Enforcement is swift, certain and significant, without exception.
Safety is a way of life around the clock.
RBS prides itself on the professionalism of its full-time safety staff and organizational dedication to employee training. A wide range of safety and health training is conducted on an ongoing basis at our headquarters.
Safety is not just a “buzz word” at RBS – it’s a way of life
